Treatment Protocol

Metatarsus Adductus occurs in three levels of severity, all treatable with UNFO shoes:

1. Mild (flexible):
   • Try stretching therapy for 4 weeks (effectiveness may vary)
   • If not fully corrected, use brace for 23 hours daily for 2 weeks
   • Then, use brace only at night for 8 additional weeks
2. Moderate (semi-rigid):
   • Use brace for 23 hours daily for 6 weeks
   • Then, use brace only at night for 8 additional weeks
3. Severe (rigid):
   • Use brace for 23 hours daily for 8 weeks
   • Then, use brace only at night for 8 additional weeks

Components of the UNFO Foot Brace:

A. Rigid Plastic Insert:

• Supports the foot
• Covered with soft thermoplastic material to prevent pressure sores
• Features curved medial wall for correction
• Includes moulded cushion over the big toe for consistent foot fixation

B. Circular Adjustable Strap:

• Immobilizes the foot in the brace
• Fixed over the medial wall
